Scott Reed, DVM's Bio:

Scott Reed, DVM, PhD, is a board-certified Diplomate of ACVP and ABVP with broad experience in veterinary clinical medicine, anatomic pathology, cancer biology, and cancer therapeutics.  He received his PhD in December of 2010 from Lousiana State University.  He was awarded a T32 fellowship by Tulane Regional Primate Center. Scott Reed also participated in research projects at Pennington Biomedical Research Center such as neurosignaling associated with digestive physiology and dietary interventions targeted at preventing hypertension and renal disease.  It was work there that helped Scott Reed to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in Anatomic Pathology.  He has over 20 publications.    After working in an array of fields with animal medicine, Scott developed problems with his hands.  He now works as the Laboratory Director for C.E. Kord Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory in Nashville, Tennesee, where he oversees laboratory functions like finances, quality assurance, strategic planning, and personal management. Reed also serves as a diagnostic pathologist in the lab and additionally, teaches a pathology course at the Veterinary Information Network (VIN).   Growing up he had a penchant for all kinds of animals.  Luckily, his parents were okay with his love for animals and allowed him to house a variety of creatures such as lizards, snakes, rabbits, turtles, ferrets and of course, dogs.  Scott Reed studied Molecular Biology in college and it only took him a year after graduate school to return to his original passion to become a veterinarian.  He has acheived a great deal so far in his career and only wishes to contribute more to the field.
